Contests

The 2022 Tremendicon Game Design Contest is open to designers of all ages for their unpublished, tabletop games. This contest encourages game designers to show off their ideas to an audience of game enthusiasts and other game designers. Our goal is for every game to receive valuable feedback from the people that will one day want to buy that game! The winning Game Designer will receive a prize of $250.

The winning game will be decided in a two-round judging format.

The First Round will have all games judged and scored in the following categories from 1 to 10:

  • Aesthetics – The overall look of the game. Game art is not a requirement, however, the design and layout of the materials for the game will count.

  • Short Description/Pitch Materials – Does the description/pitch draw in the judges to want to play the game.

The top 5 winners will continue to the Second Round.

The Second Round will have all games judged and scored in the following categories from 1 to 10:

  • Fun Level – How enjoyable is the game to play?

  • Mechanics – How well do the mechanics of the game work?

  • Replayability – Does the game hold the fun and excitement levels for multiple play-throughs?

  • Complexity – How difficult was it to learn how to play the game and how well the rules are written?

In the Second Round the games will be played twice each.
